Will gladly do. It’s not like I’m upset or anything, just sharing my thoughts.

Just my opinion, but I preferred the old intro. It was a bit more mysterious, with less exposition, and I think it just worked really well. Considering we were playing a character with most of his memories missing, while being in a situation where there wasn’t much time to explain, it felt more immersive.
Also, I thought the old bad end where you denied the pact was more entertaining, too. Just dropping dead on the spot was more poignant than suddenly being back in the Morn again.
I don’t think there’s anything wrong with the new scenes—some parts like the brief flashback of being stabbed in the back for example were great additions—I just liked the old ones more.
Something that was definitely good however was the change to Enna, even if it feels like she’s a bit too “excited” right after reviving you. But previously she just felt weirdly distant.
There are people who are too in love with their own ideas, and I’m always happy to see someone who takes others’ opinions into account.
I do have to say, I found Enna difficult to understand. Her behavior seemed confusing, rather than mysterious, though I’m also not a good judge of character.
As for the name, I’d throw Chosen of Morn into the hat, but that’s only really if you want to keep it phonetically similar. Maybe you’d rather change it completely at this point.
I know you’re probably a bit stressed right now because of the PC situation, so no rush. I just wanted to ask if you were planning a continuity pass in the future? There are many situations where interactions can happen that shouldn’t be happening at that time. Big example would be when the MC tries to avoid everyone there will still be an active alarm clock if you set one before, and you still have girls show up in your room to do stuff.
I understand this is probably pretty difficult considering how many events you have, how non-linear the game is, and how often main events can cause big changes in the narrative. Sadly it’s just the most glaring problem the game has in my opinion, and that’s really a shame because it’s one of my favorites.
Lovely game so far. My only gripe with it is that the characterization seems a bit unclear. Not sure if the MC is selfish or not, and from Momo I’m really unsure if she’s super manipulative or earnest.
Small bug report. In the “She’s not a…” quest after you hand in the 8 logs and talk to Elizabeth, the previous quest step will uncheck itself and you will need to have another 8 logs in your inventory to finish it.
Also, I’m not sure if this is temporary, but having a percentage of your current money taken away every week doesn’t make much sense. That just incentivizes me to only sell things when I need the money. A system like in Scarlet Law, where you often need to make large purchases and have to pay a fixed amount every week that increases the more nuns you have, seems more fitting. Although in Scarlet Law not having that money would result in a game over. Maybe there’s a better alternative.
I’m not that far yet, but this seems really well made. I like this little detail in the early conversations with Hannah that Eirik always gives her something new to think about, and when he tries to talk to her again on the same day she tries to speak about it but clearly needs some more time to think.
I got this in a bundle with Mist. It looks very promising so far. The writing and animations look top notch, and the sound is nice too.
My only point of critique so far is that the scenes are just so dark, and I had the same problem in Mist. It doesn’t help that a lot of background characters are these dark, reflective blobs. Not sure yet whether there is a story reason for this, or just an early placeholder. At least the vessels in Mist were matte with emissive effects, which made it easier to make out their poses in dark environments.
I don’t know if you can make a brightness slider for a game like this without the scenes simply looking washed out. I’d love it if you could add more light sources to a shot to cancel out some of the shadows. It’s a really beautiful game, and I’d rather have some candles or glowing magic orbs or whatever appear in a scene without an explanation how they got there, than to miss out on the details.
So far it’s a fun game, but I have to say I’m feeling a bit lost and like there is a lack of guidance. For one, I’m still not sure what specifically lets me have a breakthrough (if it’s based on stats or purely on the amount of Qi I have.) Events are also a bit too lose. I keep seeing stuff being referenced that hasn’t happened yet when just chatting with characters, and I don’t even feel like I’m pushing relationships hard.
I once looked into translation services for games, just a cursory glance mind you. I have a feeling what I found first are probably those services that prey on inexperienced devs and that there are better alternatives, but the basic rates start at something like 10+ cents per word, depending on the language.
Seems like something that only very successful indie games or those with very few words would employ. I assume AAA devs have much better resources.
Large amounts of text usually scare me away with these games, but your writing style really has a way of drawing me in, and it has solid lore to back it up (I feel a bit silly saying it, but I’d like to be able to write like that, eloquent but not overbearing, albeit a bit too idiomatic at times.)
Also, the combat system is complex enough that it’s engaging but not so complicated that I have no idea what I’m doing for half the game.
I'm just saying, but if we ever get our hands on the contract of one of the champions, I'd hope it's Miss Maple. Nothing would give me more pleasure than making her do all the chores around the house so Silvia can relax. I'd personally watch her every time she has to scrub the toilet with a toothbrush.
I'm really not having a problem with the writing as such, and as you say, changing it completely would change the essence of the game. I assumed you were Spanish and that this was just a natural pacing for a Spanish conversation. I can see how that is problematic if half of your audience wants one thing and the other half wants the opposite. As far as I'm concerned, you should do what feels right for this game ^^
I'm a bit late to the party, but I hope you're feeling better.
Recently, I've picked this game up again, and I love the progress. I'm quite happy you're doing a quality pass, though I'll wait until v16 to check it out.
"From now on, when you have a favourite girl selected, if you right-click on the icon, you will be able to quickly switch to another girl." Really good idea, I was kinda trying to do that instinctively (and more than once) when I played. Do you think you could also do something so you can faster see how many Trust/Love/Lust points they currently have and still need?
Also, I'm curious about that narrative improvement when it eventually comes. Not gonna lie, the dialog is often windy and redundant, with a bit too much banter before anyone gets to the point, but that too is part of the charm of this game.
I do have one last question. I saw that post about the cancellation of Lisapi's Adventure from last year. Are there still plans to be able to switch the control over to her, or has that idea been scrapped? You sounded rather passionate about the idea, so I would really hope to one day see it.
Thank you for your great work and dedication :)
This was a great dev diary. I've been keeping an eye on this game ever since I played it the first time in 2019 or 2020 I think. Usually when games get updated I like to play them front to back all over, but I never did with Harem Hotel because I was always intimidated by the size. But I have more time now again and I really want to dive back into it.
I like it when a game is kept simple, but I do think a more in-depth energy system than 3 cards per day would be an improvement. Some cards like draw +1 the next day or double the effect of the next card played are extremely situational and I don't really feel encouraged to pick them.
Other than that, it is a really captivating game for how small it is.
I've been running around with the unnaturally sensitive status for a while now. Not sure how to get rid of it, and I'm not even certain it wasn't a bug that I got it in the first place.
I received it when trying the different options available when "paying with your body" after getting hypnotized. It only happened on the fourth or fifth time when I decided to tease Rinny while having a dick.
Also at that point in the game I had only just freed Cassie, so if I hadn't known how to do it, it would have taken me ages to get to UNA, where I was then told after an examination I should simply stop cumming. But I don't know if it means for a certain amount of time or steps, because just going to bed repeatedly and lowering my arousal with angel milk did not work. I've tried that 15 times in a row.
Edit: I just remembered I also got early stage pregnancy at exactly the same time.
I think this may have been the first project I found on here, and I still love checking it out years later. By now there is so much content it's difficult to actually see it all. The major stuff you can figure out with the journal, but I often keep wandering around looking for special interactions I may have missed. It's great but also a bit frustrating.
